In 2026, the 4th Annual Hānau Hou Arts & Fashion Show returned to the Grand Naniloa Hotel, featuring 11 local designers, 65 models, and cultural performances by Puna Taiko and Hālau Ka Lehua Pua Kamaehu. The sold-out event welcomed more than 335 attendees, demonstrating strong community support while providing a meaningful platform to celebrate local fashion, arts, and culture.
Pūlelehua
Pūlelehua reflects a modern yet deeply rooted expression of Hawaiian fashion. Each collection is thoughtfully designed to honor Hawaiʻi’s cultural heritage, weaving together bold silhouettes with patterns inspired by the islands’ rich and vibrant flora. Through her designs, Gemma brings forward a sense of identity that is both contemporary and grounded in place.
miKai Collections
miKai Collections is a Hawai’i based lifestyle brand rooted in purpose, culture and connection. It was created by Mikaela, but inspired by her daughter Kaile’a. Their names together make miKai. They blend modern design with meaningful impact. Each piece is thoughtfully created to reflect effortless island style while carrying a deeper intention - giving back. Through every release the brand reinvests into the community, turning fashion into a force for good.
Nahe Wahine
Nahe Wahine began over a decade ago in Hilo, starting humbly with a table and racks at the Hilo Lanes bowling alley. From those early days to the present, Bergindy has remained grounded in her guiding motto: “sharing what I love for who I aloha.” What started as a collection designed exclusively for wāhine has since grown into a full ʻohana brand, now offering styles for everyone—from kūpuna to keiki and kāne—while still honoring the essence of feminine beauty.
Waileʻa
Waileʻa is a locally owned boutique rooted in the culture, beauty, and lifestyle of Hawaiʻi. Dedicated to celebrating island heritage, Waileʻa offers thoughtfully designed clothing and accessories for keiki, wahine, and kāne. Each piece reflects a connection to Hawaiʻi’s traditions while embracing modern style, allowing customers to carry a meaningful piece of the islands wherever they go.
Alaoli Hawaiʻi
Ala Oli is a Hawai‘i-based swimwear brand founded by two kanaka sisters who wanted to create something meaningful together while celebrating the lifestyle they grew up with. Ala Oli Hawaiʻi was created to design pieces that feel comfortable, flattering, and made for real life in Hawai‘i with silhouettes that allow everyone to feel confident, free, and fully themselves.
Hoʻoilina
Dr. Hannah Kalama Preston-Pita is the founder and visionary behind the Hānau Hou Arts & Fashion Show and the designer of Hoʻoilina Designs, a fashion line rooted in legacy, healing, and cultural expression.Her design aesthetic, described as indigenous streetwear blends contemporary silhouettes with cultural influences from across the Pacific and Asia. Each piece is intentional, often carrying messages of resilience, resistance, and renewal.
Hoʻonani Love
Rooted in culture, family, and everyday inspiration, this brand was founded in 2024 with the guidance and support of a beloved aunty and kumu. What began as a vision to create pieces that honor heritage while remaining affordable—without ever compromising quality—has grown into something much deeper.
KoaMalu Collective
Founded by artist and designer Geoli Ng—born and raised in Hilo, Hawaiʻi—her deep connection to ʻāina lives in every piece. Each design begins by hand, drawn with intention and inspired by a moʻolelo—stories that carry the depth, history, and spirit of these islands, now woven into fabric and brought to life on this runway. This is not just design, but storytelling you can wear.
Kaʻehuwelolani
Kaʻehuwelolani by Kalehua Simeona & ʻohana is a Native Hawaiian wahine-owned brand founded in 2025 and based in East Hawaiʻi, creating custom, modern alohawear through a slow fashion approach. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and made with intention and aloha, honoring Hawaiʻi’s culture with pride while embracing contemporary expression.
Kākou Collective
Kea Peters is a Native Hawaiian wahine artist and the illustrator behind Kākou Collective, a Hawaiʻi-based brand grounded in storytelling, education, and a deep connection to place. Her work reflects the landscapes, plants, and cultural narratives that shape Hawaiʻi, using art as a way to build community and strengthen pilina.
Kahulaleʻa
ēhaulani (Marzo) Nielson is the owner and designer behind Kahulaleʻa, a Native Hawaiian-owned aloha wear boutique that reflects story, identity, and ʻike through every piece. Founded in 2013, Kahulaleʻa is proudly locally owned and ʻohana operated, growing into a respected and recognizable name within Hawaiʻi’s fashion community.
2025
In 2025, the 3rd Annual Hānau Hou Arts & Fashion Show came back to the Grand Naniloa Hotel where we showcased a total of 10 designers, 70 models, and performances from Puna Taiko, Hālau Kauluola, and Hālau Ka Lehua Pua Kamaehu. Being a sold-out show, we had over 200 attendees and solidified that this was an event you didn’t want to miss.
Lei by Wehi
Kawehi Perry-Ah Hoy is a lei maker from Honolulu, Oʻahu who uses Native Hawaiian flora in her lei and floral creations, She strives to foster cultural appreciation and educate others about Native Hawaiian flora, various styles of lei making, and the different pua that are found in our home.

Adorably Sapphira began as a clothing brand for keiki and expanded to ohana matching outfits, designer bags, accessories and so much more!
Malie Designs
Malie Designs is a kanaka and wahine-owned business that illuminates native and endemic Hawaiian species, carrying out Hawaiian cultural practices, and continuing the use of ʻōlelo Hawai'i.
Kūlua
Kūlua is more than just a fashion brand—it’s a reflection of heritage, sustainability, and the power of local craftsmanship. Designed, cut, and sewn with care in their studio shop in historic Makawao town, each piece tells a story of tradition and innovation.

Pulelehua Apparel embodies the essence of contemporary and authentic Hawaiian fashion. Alvior meticulously designs patterns that capture the cultural heritage of Hawaii, incorporating the vibrant and rich floral tapestry of the islands.
Missing Polynesia
Meilin's childhood was filled with colorful Polynesian costumes and the diverse influences of her mother’s Waikiki store. Traveling alongside her mother, she recognized a longing for the islands among those she encountered—people were missing Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, and Tonga. This realization ignited her passion for design and cultural expression.
2024
In 2024, we moved the Hānau Hou Arts & Fashion Show to the Grand Naniloa Hotel where we showcased a total of 9 designers and entertainment like Taiko, Hula, and singing. Being a sold-out show, we had over 200 attendees and solidified that this was an event you didn’t want to miss.

In 2023, the first Hānau Hou Arts & Fashion Show was held at the Hilo Palace Theater with 8 designers showcasing their fashion collections and amazing entertainers like Puna Taiko, Keanaliʻi Bertelmann, and Kiani Carmack.
